TrailPeople

These trails are located in the Alto Bowl Open Space between the cities of Mill Valley and Corte Madera. They are important connections in the Marin County trail system that were “inherited” years ago. The original routes were very steep and prone to erosion.

Marin County Parks retained TrailPeople, supported by Cal Engineering & Geology, to study the feasibility and design to realign or reconfigure these trails to improve their sustainability and potential for multi-use. The re-routes take a more gradual and winding route, following the terrain and avoiding concentration of drainage.
